President's Day sale! Dear America book

written after September 11, 2001, Dianne writes about God, Islam, the Muslims, and going on with Jesus Christ
Dear America
A Letter of Comfort and Hope
to a Grieving Nation
Starting tomorrow, Wednesday February 12th, the Kindle edition of my first book, Dear America, will go on sale for one week to celebrate President's Day.

In the United States, we celebrate President's Day on Monday, February 17, 2014, to commemorate the birthdays of both George Washington, the first president of the United States, whose actual birthday is February 22nd, and Abraham Lincoln, who signed the document that ended slavery in the United States, whose actual birthday is February 12th.

On this patriotic day, I'm celebrating by offering Dear America: A Letter of Comfort and Hope to a Grieving Nation at a discounted price.

I wrote Dear America in the days and first few weeks following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The book was published in print by Ampelos Press six months later on March 11, 2002. The Kindle edition released on its tenth anniversary, in 2012.

While the events of September 11th inspired the book, the information in it is timeless. In Dear America, you'll find:

  • 10 Things I've Learned About Grief: practical thoughts and information to help you or a friend through the loss of a loved one.
  • An intriguing Q & A section answering such questions as "Do Muslims and Christians worship the same God?" and "How can we know if Christianity is true?"
  • Ten practical tips to help beginners start reading and understanding the Bible.
  • A fascinating presentation of the Bible in only five acts!

Dear America will be on sale:

  • Tuesday, February 12, through Saturday, February 15, for only $ .99!
  • Then on Sunday, February 16, through Tuesday, February 18, for $1.99.

Don't have a Kindle? No problem. Your computer, tablet, or phone can be your Kindle reader with a download of a free app from Amazon. Find links to Kindle apps here.

I hope you'll grab your copy of Dear America this week and share this sale info with a friend who may also benefit from it. This small book has been called "inspiring," "practical," and "uplifting." If you find it so, please leave a note as a review on Amazon to let others know. Thank you.

Remember September 11, 2001

Just like that morning in 2001, September 11th occurs on a Tuesday on this 11th anniversary. As painful as it might be, it is only right that we remember September 11, 2001, and those who died, or whose lives were forever changed, on that day.

It was in the days and few weeks following the Terrorist Attacks on the United States that I wrote my first book. I, I'm sure like so many, wanted to do something. But we felt so helpless. What could we possibly do?

I can't answer that for others. But for a writer, what else could I do but write? And so I wrote Dear America: A Letter of Comfort & Hope to a Grieving Nation (Ampelos Press, 2002).

This little book is still available in print. It was published 6 months to the day after September 11, 2001 -- on March 11, 2002. This year, for its tenth anniversary, Dear America was republished on Kindle.

Still relevant today, Dear America includes:
  • my story of living through grief and discovering God
  • 10 Things I've Learned About Grief
  • a brief telling of the over-arching story of the Bible
  • Q & A about Christians and Muslims
  • helps to begin reading and understanding the Bible

Dear America now on Kindle!

Tomorrow is March 11, 2012. Ten years ago tomorrow my first book was published!

I wrote Dear America: A Letter of Comfort and Hope to a Grieving Nation in the days following September 11, 2001 and the Attacks on America. I wrote it in ten days. It was published and available six months to the day after September 11th.

With our nation grieving the loss of so many individuals, I wanted to share from my own experiences what I've learned about getting through grief and loss.

As our nation encountered an attack from radical Muslims, I wanted to share what I'd learned about Islam and the Muslim faith and how it compares to Christianity.

With so many people searching for hope and wondering about God, I wanted to tell them why I believe God exists. I wanted to share God's story - His story (history) - in a short, concise, easy-to-understand way.

And with so many people wanting to know about God and looking to the Bible, some for the very first time, I wanted to share some basic tips for beginning to read the Bible.

Dear America is only 52 pages long, but it packs a lot of information for the searching and curious, and overflows with compassion for the grieving and hopeless.

Thank God we haven't experiences another attack like we did ten years and six months ago. But Dear America still offers a lot of information and help for the grieving, the searching, the curious, and the hopeless. Who do you know who is grieving? Who do you know that is searching? They'll appreciate this book!

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Dear America, it's now available on Kindle! Find it here: Dear America on Kindle.

A quick read. A lot of information. A bundle of hope. Overflowing with compassion. Kindle edition only $3.45.

Still available in print from the Author or Amazon for $6.95 plus shipping (and tax where applicable).

Dear America - Now in Amazon's "Look Inside the Book" program!

You know Deliver Me was not my first book, right? I wrote Dear America: A Letter of Comfort & Hope to a Grieving Nation ten years ago, after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Now Dear America is part of Amazon's "Look Inside the Book" program! You can read portions from the book by clicking on the "Look Inside" icon.

Here is some of what you'll find in Dear America:

  • Ten useful tips to help you or a friend through the loss of a loved one.
  • A fascinating presentation of the Bible as a five-act story. Understand and explain the story of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation in five easy steps.
  • An intriguing Q & A section. Discover answers to some of your questions about Muslims, their faith, and how it is different from Christianity, including: Who are the Muslims? Where did the religion of Islam come from? Do Muslims and Christians worship the same God?  How can we know Christianity is true?
  • Ten practical tips to help beginners in how to start reading and understanding the Bible.
The topics are timeless. So is the help and encouragement.

If you haven't yet read Dear America, I hope you'll take a few moments to take a look inside the book.
